OVERVIEW : Curriculum and instruction is a field within education which focuses on research, development and implementation of curriculum that increases student's achievement within and outside of schools. Most educators feel a constant need to improve the mode of education and curriculum taught in schools.

JOB DESCRIPTION : Curriculum and instruction coordinators oversee school districts' curriculum and teaching standards. They work with teachers and school administrators to develop and implement new and better methods of teaching techniques to improve the quality of education. Curriculum and instruction coordinators oversee the development of school's curriculum and they arrange for professional development opportunities for teachers.


Most school districts require instructional coordinators to have at least a master's degree. In addition, they often require them to be licensed teachers or licensed school administrators.
